This fanlisting is dedicated to Herm, my son, as Jimi is one of his inspirations for taking up the guitar. I opened it on his birthday as anything Jimi related would be a well received online gift to share with the world.

Opening day at The NAMM Show in Anaheim, CA saw Marshall Amplification, PLC unveil its highly touted, hand-wired authentic replica 100W stack to commemorate the company's 40th Anniversary. Limited to only 600 pieces worldwide, the all-new Marshall Amp features all-valve heads and accompanying 4x12 cabinets and have been custom crafted to recreate the exact sound Jimi Hendrix garnered from his own Marshall Amps in the late 1960s. Gibson unveils the Jimi Hendrix Flying V

Well it seems Gibson has finally created a Jimi Hendrix guitar in their inspired by line of guitars! Jimi's step-sister Janie Hendrix was at the unveiling of the inspired flying v at the recent NAMM music show.

"Jimi Hendrix’s hand-painted 1967 Flying V is a mythical instrument. Purchased in 1967 and used on tour in Europe during 1967 and 1968, the guitar-with its swirling
psychedelic designs-highlights the spirit of the times and showcases Jimi's unique artistic expression. The entire instrument emanates a feeling of warmth and love.

Meticulously recreating Jimi’s guitar has been a labor of love for us as well. Originally painted with what appears to be nail polish, we have used materials which reproduce the same sense of depth and texture. But this is a Gibson Custom guitar, so the materials and hardware are faithful reproductions of the original. The result is an instrument with unsurpassed playability and classic tone.
